What is a liquidation heatmap?
A liquidation heatmap shows the price levels at which leveraged positions on derivatives exchanges (Binance, Bybit, OKX) will be forcibly closed if the price reaches them. Large clusters often act as magnets — price tends to sweep them.
How to read this
- Darker bars = larger liquidation clusters
- Above current price = short squeezes potential
- Below current price = long liquidation cascades
- Magnets often get hit during low-liquidity periods
